Indroduction

Mar Gregorious memorial (M.G.M) Higher Secondary School, Itarsi is an English medium school run by the malamkara orthodox Syrian church, Kolkota Diocese. The Orthodox Chruch in india was established in the year A.D 52 By st. Thomas, the disciple of jesus Christ. The church neither belongs of catholic nor protestant group but fully indigenous. The church runs several schools throughtout the country with the aim to impart value of responsible towards self society and nation with in the students.


                   HISTORY

M.G.M School, Itarsi is established in the year 1993 on a rented building in old Itarsi. In 1997 it is shifted to the present building in the village raisalpur,3.5 Km from the itarsi railwaystation on theItarsi- hoshangabad  road. The school is situated in 14 acre land in the middle of lushgreen fields and unpolluted environment. The school is named after the saint gregarious of parumala (Kerala), the first canonized saint of the malankara Orthrodox Syrian church of India. Today it has grown as a prestigious institution in the Hoshangabad district with classes from nursery to XII

 Academics :

M.G.M School itarsi is one of the most up coming coeducational schools of hoshangabad district. We impart knowledge through direct  experience method including field trip,educational tours ,seminars,science exhibition awareness campaign rallies etc which enable the children to excel in every field of life.  To develop a sound mind  in a sound body,yoga claases are held regularly in the morning hours.

           In academics  our students excelled themselves with 100% high school results and 05 candidates achieved  10 CGPA. 97% result was achieved in Higher secondary for the session 2011-12. The entire school students are grouped under four houses . each house is led by a house incharge and a team of enthusiastic and dedicated teachers. Throughout  the year keen efforts are made to develop a child in the field of oration,general  knowledge,presentation ,thinking ability,etc. by the means of different competitions like elocution,debate one minute show, group  discussion, speeches, drama, stage show,songs reading and recitation and Many other activities.

                               We train our students through practical knowledge in different fields like agriculture,gardening art and craft,music,singing,scout and guide,calligraphy,abacus etc. Every national

                              Regular  parent Teacher meeting are being arranged for interaction with the Parents. Counseling for students are done from time to time.

   Games & sports :

Games & sports play an important role to faster spirit and  provide a welcome break from studies. At present, the school facilitates games like cricket, football, table tennis , badminton, chess, carom,basket ball, martial arts etc.

Inter house activities :

TO Provide healthy spirit of teamwork and compition, the school is divided into four houses. Wednesday are set a part for compition among these houses on curricular and co-curricular aspects.

Vocational know how :

TO Make the students self reliant to face the challenges of life and to become a responsible and useful component of society, the school provide opportunity to expertise in different areas like candle making, book binding, agriculture, cookety, art  craft and electronics.

Extra curricular activities :

Tranning in extra curricular activities such has vocal instrumental music(tabla, harmonium,organ),dance drama etc are offered to student according to their interest.
